BRIAN'S RUN

Brian's Run is a 5K "Fun Run And Walk" to honor the memory of Brian Pankau. Brian was a star on the school’s cross-country and track teams, and was looking forward to continuing his athletic endeavors in college.  In addition to athletics, Brian was Senior Class President, a member of the Chorus and Swing Choir, the rodeo announcer and broadcaster for Middle Park High School sports teams.  This scholarship fund was set up by Brian’s family to assist college bound students from Middle Park High School who are involved in track, volleyball, basketball, or cross-country, and/or who are interested in the fine arts, band, choir, journalism or broadcasting.  Initial funding for this scholarship fund came from the first Brian’s Run which was held in August of 2002 and organized by Brian’s good friend Emily Kinzer.  Brian’s Run will continue to be an annual fund raising event and provide an ongoing source of funding for scholarship awards in memory of Brian Pankau.

This year's race will be held Saturday August 4, 2007 at Snow Mountain Ranch, YMCA of the Rockies at the Cookout Pavilion. All proceeds are placed in the Brian Pankau Memorial Scholarship Fund administered by The Denver Foundation. Scholarships for Middle Park High School Seniors are awarded each May in Brian's Memory.
